Off Roads Travel is opgericht door avonturiers die al geruime tijd de wereld rondreizen. Nadat ze waren opgegroeid in drukke steden, begonnen ze de wereld rond te reizen. Na vele steden en landschappen bezocht te hebben, ontdekten ze dat de puurste wijsheid en kracht niet te vinden is in boeken, podcasts of cursussen, maar dat pure intelligentie te vinden is in de natuur en de manier waarop die functioneert.

Tijdens een reis door Brazilië verbleven ze een tijdje in het Amazonegebied. Deze ervaring opende hun ogen en de diepe jungletochten waren de perfecte remedie tegen het drukke stadsleven thuis om de wereld op een heel andere manier te ervaren.

Bij Off Roads Travel hebben we een breed netwerk van meertalige reisleiders, waardoor we kunnen samenwerken met de beste gespecialiseerde reisleiders.

Ook in Brazilië kwamen we in contact met Ney, al meer dan 20 jaar een gerespecteerde gids in het Amazonegebied. Ney is geboren en getogen in het regenwoud van de Amazone en kent het gebied als zijn achtertuin. Jarenlang heeft hij honderden mensen van over de hele wereld de verborgen juweeltjes van de Amazone laten zien.

We zijn nog steeds een klein bedrijf, met een paar locaties, maar na verloop van tijd zullen we zeker uitbreiden naar andere landen en mensen in contact brengen met de kracht van de natuur.

ONTMOET NEY!

Mijn officiële naam is Rosiney Lima Maia, maar al mijn vrienden noemen me Ney. Ik ben opgegroeid in de jungle in een klein dorpje waar ik leerde

leerde wandelen, vissen, jagen en kamperen in het Amazone regenwoud.

Ik ben in 2000 begonnen als junglegids om toeristen de weg naar de jungle te wijzen. In die tijd heb ik Engels geleerd, zodat ik je alle jungleverhalen van het Amazonegebied kan vertellen. Mijn specialiteit is het noordelijke deel van Manaus, omdat ik daar geboren en getogen ben.

If you want to get to know the authentic, wild jungle, this is exactly the right trip. Away from other trouristic activities offered in and around Manaus. It is especially exciting to learn about the traditions and listen to the stories of Ney's family. Of course, Ney and his family live in a much more modern way now, but you notice every moment that they want to live on and pass on their culture. They protect their land and live very consciously with nature.

Overall, we had a super eventful trip, in a small group, away from the touristic activities. The two guides (Ney and his brother) deserve special mention - always friendly and courteous and always ready with an impressive story."

"Ney and his team provide a truly unique experience. This is packed with sleeping in the jungle, piranha fishing, exploring the amazon by boat in floating forests and eating some local fish and other dishes.

There is also the opportunity to see some amazing views in nature, be these the extensive wildlife or the stunning sunsets and the Milky Way on clear nights. The river gives you a very unique Amazon perspective.

Ney and his team have been hit hard by the pandemic but are building this amazing business up again and I hope it goes from strength to strength in the future. All I can say is that I will certainly be back to see the progress in the future. It will also be top of my list of must do things for any friends looking to explore Brazil."
